Job description
The MS SQL Server 2019+ DBA will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our SQL Server databases. This role requires extensive experience in writing SQL statements, stored procedures, database functions, and database triggers. The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in setting up and maintaining SQL Server Availability Groups for high availability, disaster recovery, and Read Scale DB clusters.
Responsibilities
- Database Management: Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
- SQL Development: Write and optimize complex SQL statements, stored procedures, database functions, and database triggers to support application development and reporting needs.
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Set up and maintain SQL Server Availability Groups to ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Read Scale DB Clusters: Configure and manage Read Scale DB clusters to enhance database performance and scalability.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and resource management.
- Backup & Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data integrity and ensure business continuity.
- Security: Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing.
- Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support database-related activities and projects.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
